The main sources of Taurus fans are the late 80's-early 90's 3.8L V-6 cars. It's about 5" thick and will clear a short water pump easily. In my 66 I have a 5-core brass radiator with a Taurus fan on it and it clears the water pump nicely. I'm Mike Goble and I approve this message.

Part of the reason is that the fans are thickest at the motor, but the motors are a bit thinner than the large single Taurus motor as well. On my car (4.0L EFI) the Taurus fan wouldn't clear the water pump end with the 3/8" thicker radiator core. WebSep 4, 2024 · I know that the Taurus fan definitely moves a lot of air. When I had my 77 corvette there were quite a few guys over on the corvette forum modified their cars with that particular fan assembly. I'm not sure what fan controllers they used. You will need a high amp alternator because they do pull quite high amps especially on start up.
