NPT is estimated to cost upwards of $100 to $500 million annually. WebFig. 2 shows similar results for offshore wells that were drilled to less than 15,000 ft. Table 3 shows the NPT for these wells that could be reduced by using MPD. Table 4 shows the economic impact of these problems.
